Kerry was allowed to do research at Columbia University due to her high school research on sleep disorders. She won Second Place in both Research Proposal and Completed Projects at SCISEF. "I am so excited to let you know that I was accepted to the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at Columbia Medical School doing my own research on heart transplant and the LVAD machine, working on new surgical techniques for cardiothoracic surgery on experimental pigs, and being a member of the organ transplant team. I am really excited because we fly all over the country to retrieve all of the donor hearts for the surgeons. I will be working under the guidance of Dr. Naka, Director of the Cardiac Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support Programs at Columbia, and his research fellows."

Kerry Morrison

Christine won Second Place in Completed Projects at SCISEF. Christine was allowed to do research at McGill University due to her high school research on ALS. When McGill asked to see her research, she presented an electronic version of her SCISEF board. "SCISEF was a great experience and so much fun."

Christine Cahaney

Beth is currently attending Yale University. She won Second Place in Research Proposal and First Place in Completed Projects at SCISEF. Beth also won a national prize for her documentary about her research project on Fragile X. "I absolutely loved participating in SCISEF."
